Security Central

What is Security Central?

Security Central comes from a long line of other related malware. In fact this malware client has been introduced on and off over the last 2 years a dozen times. It just keeps going under a different name each time. Make no mistake this bogus security client isn't going away any ime soon. The makers just keep changing the name and file names around and start the scam all over again. Do not purchase this client as it's false.

How Did I get infected with Security Central?

You most likely got infected from a drive by download. If your were surfing the web and all the sudden this program was isntalling it's self and popping up, that is what happened. If you had propper protection like Spyware Doctor with Antivirus or Spyware Doctor with Antivirus, chances are it would of block this rogue malware from installing.

There are many other ways users get infected with malware. It could be from a trojan virus that was already installed on your computer, from a bot that was running on your computer. A user may of been tricked into install software they thought was for somthing else but instead turned out to be Security Central. The list goes on and on.

In the end you may never know exactly how you got infected. Just note that your computer is not secure enough currently and you should consider upgrading your security client.

What is Security Central Doing to My Computer Right Now?

Deleting ALL your files!!!! No it's not doing any of that. But I got your heart going for a second. Mostly this bogus security client shows false scan results. It will keep pestering you with bogus messages about your computer being infected with a virus and that your personal banking information is being accessed by a third party. It's all a lie. It's a con to scare you into making purchase.

The only real thing this client does is annoy the crap out of the user and block programs from running. Security Central is the virus. You do need to run a full virus scan once you follow the manual removal guide to ensure you have no other viruses installed. You may have trojan banker software installed on your computer or it may even be part of a bot network. No way to know untill you run a virus scan. We at RV recommend either Spyware Doctor with Antivirus or Spyware Doctor with Antivirus
