1. Stop viruses from changing this setting back to proxy

I work with removing viruses on a daily basis, and have found that a lot of threats like to change your setting from auto to proxy. Once this has happened bad things usually follow. How would you prevent spyware or any other app from changing IE settings in such a manner?

2. Best Question I have been

Best Question I have been asked all week!

There are a number of things you can do to help cut down on this. Nothing is full proof but for many this list will help.

1. Keep an active security client on your computer and up to date so it will stop these kinds of changes. NO FREE client will work for this.

2. Keep software up to date and patched. Simple updates for IE and Firefox go a LONG WAY.

3. For children it is a must to limit there account. Having them not be able to install software helps to stop these issues dead in their tracks.

Not the full proof answer you want but an honest one. I do not personally no of a way to fully stop this and do not think their is one. The above should really help those who are infected out.
