To Stop this process you can

A. You can use the above folder paths to find this file. It should be hiding in one of them. You may need to show hidden files and folders. If that is the case you can read this guide http://www.removevirus.org/show-hidden-files-and-folders. Once you are in the folder you can sort the files by date. This helps to reduce the possibilities down to like 2-3 files. From there pick the date you became infected and re-name the file then re-boot and delete the file the next time you log-in.

B.  Boot into Safe Mode and delete the file. Same as the above but only the process should not be running so you can just delete it.

C:  Use the Task Manager  to find the location of the file and re-name it then delete after re-boot. Most people will have this disabled and not working. However some users can use it the very second you log into the operating system. You have about 10 seconds to locate the file before the Task Manager will close.

D:  Log-into another users account and see if you can delete the file.

E:  Start the Task Manager the very second you login and terminate the process that way.

The next step in Win 7 Security 2012 removal is to delete the following file. You NEED to re-boot your computer first if you re-named the file as you can not remove a file that is running.

  5. I’ve been attacked by this virus numerous times and in slightly different forms. Looks like it happens every time I visit a particular site with Fire Fox. Appears that there is currently no trace of this virus in my system but I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s still got a hold of FireFox and it’s able to reinsert itself. Today it was able to kill all .EXEs which it never was able to do before. Running Malware antibytes, Hitman Pro & MIcrosoft S.E. on Win 7 64 bit.

    • I would recommend you simply purchase real antivirus protection instead of using free programs. It solves the issue of not finding the virus and offer you real up front and live protection.

        • Sorry, My IE is working now, but not my Chrome. To confirm it is a exe. problem, i went into my pictures to try to pull 1 up, but I get the ERROR: Sever execution Failed.

          Thanks for your help Sir!

          • Easiest thing is to try a system restore. Just type restore into the run command. basically hit the Windows button on the bottom left and that first line you type restore. You should then see System Restore above. Select that and go back a week or so. This should undo whatever damage was done. If that does not work for you run the .exe fix in the first paragraph of the manual guide to see if that works for you. It should. Post back an update. You can also Google “fix exe not opening Vista” for a patch. I’m guessing it’s a registry change.

          • thanks for all your help! I managed to fix everything. problem with system restore was that it would say that my DISK is damaged or something along the lines. that was the first thing i tried to do when i received the virus. I appreciate your assistance!

      • Copy and past in the exact file path so I can ensure you are looking in the correct folder. Have you attempted to boot into safemode with networking and installing the SDA client and running a scan? If not I would also try that. Should help to locate the exact folder path were the threat is.

        • Yes, thank you so so so much. Here is what I did. I went appdata and local, then I found it, the logo had been changed so that is probably why I couldn’t locate it before.
