Remove AntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011, Removal Steps

Step 1.  You need to stop the main executable (filename.exe) of this virus.
Virus Exetutables you may need to stop:

  • [random].exe ( Thie means there may be a .exe that is unqiue to your computer in our case the file was Antivirus Antispyware 2011.exe)

  • AntiVirusAntiSpyware.exe

  • securitymanager.exe

  • mscjm.exe

  • recf.exe

  • securityhelper.exe

In order to stop this process , one of the following tactics should work
Tactic 1. Open the Task Manager and Terminate the virus executable(s) ( Learn How to Use Task Manager Here )

Tactic 2. Re-name the executable(s) and re-start your computer.  ( Learn How to re-name a file here )  The folder path to this executable is

XP: Hint view the below Random folder by date modified to help find out the name of the folder.

  • C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataRandomRandom.exe
  • C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataRandomsecurityhelper.exe
  • C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataRandomsecuritymanager.exe

Vista / Windows 7: One of the below

  •  C:UsersYOUR USER NAMEAppDataRoamingAntivirus Antispyware 2011Antivirus Antispyware 2011.exe
  • C:UsersYOUR USER NAMEAppDataRoamingAntivirus Antispyware 2011securityhelper.exe
  • C:UsersYOUR USER NAMEAppDataRoamingAntivirus Antispyware 2011securitymanager.exe

Also look for C:UsersYOUR USER NAMEAppDataRoaming[Random][Random.exe]

Tactic 3. Boot into safe mode so this virus will not load ( Learn How to Boot Into Safe Mode )

Tactic 4. Perform a System Restore to possibly undo the virus installation.  This will cause you to lose any software or software updates you have installed after the restore date you pick.  However your personal files should not be changed or removed.  I HAVE SEEN THIS OPTION DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD SO I PERSONALLY RARLY DO IT WITH VIRUS INFECTIONS.  ( Learn How to do a System Restore Here )

REMOVE AntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011 Executalbes

Step 2.  Once you have used one of the  tactics in step one to stop AntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011 from running you will need to delete AntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011's executable.  Please note that in option 4 the file traces may already be gone.

You will need to browse to the following file path and delete the main executable of this virus threat as well as other related files

XP

  • C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataRandomRandom.exe
  • C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataRandomsecurityhelper.exe
  • C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataRandomsecuritymanager.exe

Vista / Windows 7: One of the below

  •  C:UsersYOUR USER NAMEAppDataRoamingAntivirus Antispyware 2011Antivirus Antispyware 2011.exe
  • C:UsersYOUR USER NAMEAppDataRoamingAntivirus Antispyware 2011securityhelper.exe
  • C:UsersYOUR USER NAMEAppDataRoamingAntivirus Antispyware 2011securitymanager.exe

(Please note that if you used tactic 2 of step 1 you will of already re-named this file.  Delete the file you re-named.)

You will aslo want to delete the Antivirus Antispyware 2011 folder or at the very least all the contents in the folder.

CHECK FOR OTHER VIRUSES

STEP 3. We now need to ensure there are no other threats installed on your computer.  To do this you will need to download and install one of the following antivirus clients that we trust.  We do recommend Spyware Doctor with Antivirus as it tends to work great and the software is super easy to use.

-> Other Antivirus clients we Like are:  Kaspersky Antivirus 2011| NOD32 Antivrus | Norton Antivirus

Run a full virus scan to ensure no other viruses are installed.  If no other threats are found while using Spyware Doctor with Antivirus or one of the other trusted anti-virus clients above you can consder your computer free of viruses.  Consider purchasing any of the above so you have real time protection against viruses so you do not get infected again and so your personal files are kept safe on your computer.

AntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011 Registry Traces

Step 4.  Honestly,  in most cases the traces in the registry do not need to be removed or modified.  The main executable has been deleted so the path shown in the registry trace is invalid and won't harm your computers data.

It's just not worth the risk of you poking around in the registry.  Damaging your computer is very easy to do while in the registry.  For this reason we really recommend you do not manually go into the registry.  Use an antivirus client or registry cleaner like PC Health Advisor to remove those invalid trace.  You can download PC Health Advisor Here. I use this as my registry cleaner and PC – optimizer tool. However here are the traces as we currently know them

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstallAntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerBrowserEmulation "TLDUpdates" = '1'
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun "AntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011"
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun "AntiVirus AntiSpyware 2011 Security"

Keep in mind that as this threat mutates the above file names will change.

Step 5. PROVIDE FEEDBACK!.  This last step is easy to skip but please take 1 minute and provide any of the following

  • File Paths and traces to keep the guide up to date
  • If you have a better way
  • Let us know anything you like

It tends to take most antivirus vendors a week or more to update their clients to pick these traces up.

I hope the guide and video was able to help you remove this threat.

What you are experiencing is very normal with this threat. Look at the manual guide and browse to the file paths shown for your operating system. Sort the files by date modified. Then you should be able to pick out the file/folder that not only looks off and weird but also matches the date you were infected.

Be specific in your reply back if you need more help. State the exact location you looked in and EXACTLY what step you are in the manual guide.

I went through the entire vid, and have XP so it was more difficult, i ended up using my safe mode and IT WAS STILL THERE, even w/o NETWORKING, and it wouldnt let me even open up task manager or SYSTEM RESORE or so i thought LOL…… see it actually caught on!!!!!!!!!!! and if it did, it said it was impossible to open those key items to help me!!!!!!!
i eventually caught on myself and had to open task manager as the little timer was counting down from 400 seconds! i opened task manager at 385 seconds! and sprung into action! i immediately opened NEW TASK and typed system restore, and 9-10 times i was too slow, but eventually clicked the day and my PC took over to go back in time!!! i want to be clear, this was CRAZY, and my own START didnt even have system restore on it, when i was in safe mode so i believe thats the only way to do it, when trying to trick this DUMBASS virus!! LASTLY it wouldnt show up as an icon on my desktop which tipped me off to try different things as your video showed me to experiment!! P.S.!!!!!!!! antivirus antispyware COMPLETELY BLOCKED this SITE!!!! after i tried to send a previous message and someone needs some fucking antiTRUST LAWS in place to prevent that shit!!!!

its fixed now, and sorry for my curse words, if its not posted i understand what needs to be addressed is how this virus actually blocked me from coming back to your site!!!!
lastly i am ADHD lol as figures since i found my own way to fix it HAHA lol to my disability but i couldnt for the life of me find the actual manual that you were talking about; after the video i searched on the home page and where the video was and didnt find actual times and dates like you mentioned to search for Q+A so thats when i went into brain storming mode and i hope you post atleast part of my findings since they are VERY EASY when you actually do it in TIMING, and they work without a doubt, i have AVAST that didnt pick up this threat and Malwarebytes which was recommended on another site after this stupid virus blocked me from YOUR SITE, i was like WTF, and you possibly would believe this if the thought was its getting stronger, like you mentioned in your video but a half hour into my scan on Malwarebytes it said that actual scan was a threat and closed it and i had to think of the next step which eventually worked, this one was tricky man
