Now?

In all honesty it really does nothing but hold you hostage. The infection does turn on a web-cam if you have one or will just display smoke if there is no cam. Do not worry they are not taking pictures of you or anything of this nature it is just a scare tactic.

  1. Hi
Removed the virus, but on boot I still get a message saying:
‘There was a problem starting C:UsersMikeAppdataLocalTemp_0u_l.exe
The specified module could not be found.’

I didn’t find that executable in the folder specified…. any ideas??

To resolve this error message you can stop the file from trying to boot when you turn your system on. Easy way to do it is using the Startup Manager. See this video/guide http://www.removevirus.org/how-to-use-msconfig on what to do. You will be removing the 0_0u_l.exe from your startup menu that is triggering the error because the file is no longer there.

once I boot up, I can’t do anything. How to follow your directions if I can’t get onto the computer

    • Anonymous says

Most people are able to boot just fine. The malware does not want your computer not to boot because then they can’t try to scam you out of your money.

Have you tried booting into safe mode yet as the guide suggests?

  3. In my case, the exe was hidden in a sub-folder of the appdata directory. A quick search helped me to find a file with an ugly name I didn’t recognize (abby0_tar.exe) which I promptly deleted.

Thank you for this helpful guide!

  4. Even when I go into safe mode I get a white screen every time I log on.

    • Are you logging into a different account? If not log into the administrator account. also what is your operating system? Need that in order to offer any advise as mentioned in the guide above.

hey i just purchased the spyware doctor and i was able to eliiminate the virus on the scan but the FBI virus is still there

    • Very unusual.

What is your operating System? did you run the quick scan or the full scan? You need to run the FULL scan in order to find and locate everything. What is most likely happening is the Antivirus client removed the virus but a trojan re-loaded the virus.

I would ensure the defenitions are up to date and then boot into safe mode wiith networking and run a full scan. Then also download the malwarebytes client and run a full scan with that as well. Once the malwarebytes client has finished it’s thing you will want to remove it so it does not conflict with SDA goign forward.

Let us know if this resolves your issue.
