Combofix is a very powerful program created by Subs. It is great for scanning computers with malware and rootkits. It’s a program that really should be used by people who know what they are doing. In the wrong hands it can damage a computer. We recommend you backup your data before using this tool.
With all that said Combofix is not that hard to use. Be sure to disable any antivirus client running. We highly recommend you only run the program while in Safe Mode.
This program is used by removevirus.org when all other AV clients fail. It seems to be able to remove many stubborn threats that other paid for clients can not.
This is not an Antivirus program. It does nothing to protect your computer from getting infected. It’s a tool that is used solely for removing viruses that are already installed on a computer. We find this product works very well and it’s what many pro’s use on computers that are infected with malware.
