SafetyCenter is another rouge application that is making the rounds. This bogus security app is normally installed from fake video codecs but that is not always the case. The program shows false traces of viruses and also sends out scary messages about the user being infected.

Safety Center is just another fake security product out there to scam users. It will only show bogus and false scan results. This client also likes to pop-up and show messages about stopping potential threats and telling you that you need to update the client. When you do attempt to update the client you are told there is an error and you need to purchase the program in order to fix the issue. Safety Center does auto start and scan on boot. You can not remove this through the add and remove programs option. In most cases people get infected with this because of a trojan downloder program. Fake video codecs are well known for this and a very simple way for most people to get infected. This client like so many others is just a scam.
Often times people will also find their desktop highjacked as well as the taskmanger disabled. this is not always the case but often times it is. If you are infected with Safety Center then you need to take actions right away to fully remove this threat. Delaying will only make matters worse and compound the issue. Be aware that the Safety Center removal guide bellow may help you fully remove this threat but you will still need to run a full scan using your favorite security client to ensure that you have no other infections. It is very important that you do this because in most cases this will not be your only infection and if you do not fully remove all your viruses there is a chance of this coming back.
Some symptoms of Safety Center:
