Nic dose is fairly low on this one, which surprised the heck out of me because the flavor is so over the top. I liked it a lot but was a little harsh, naturally I jarred it up , put it away and tried other blends in my quest of tobaccos. Fantastic. Fans of Lapsang Souchong tea (also very smokey) will love this. In fact, it's so much that after about two minutes into a bowl, I'm no longer capable of tasting ANYTHING, including the latakia. However, there is nothing better than this for Latakia -Lovers. The satisfaction this baccy gives me is immense. Opening the tin reveals a dark brown block that looks like a brownie. . I just love it! Some say its unidimensional. I was almost tempted to take a big bite off the brownie. At other times, you may also detect an almost perfumy fragrance, possibly a synaesthetic hallucination. I like to pack it a bit more moist than usual as I find that releases more of the flavor. The smoke is smooth and Creamy with a little roughness now and then. Sweet latakia smoke. If they are certain that they enjoy latakia in larger quantities, then this would be a fantastic blend for a new pipe smoker. All these come to mind when smoking the kake. The block came from smoking pipes vacuum packed and looking more illicit than anything I've ever gotten in the mail. I was pleasantly surprised by C&D's Pirate Kake though. Absolutely luscious! I dont know what else can be said about this blend. I know it says there is some orientals in there, but I don't know. This is a dark black brick which crumbles into wonderful flakes very easily and is able to be sprinked and packed nicely - a few lighter colored flakes are evident in the crumbling. Taste like how it smells. My preference has always been for latakia forward blends but admit to having reservations to smoking anything that had a 70% latakia content. I love the fact that it's such a wonderful smoke For a cigar smoker I think latakia is the way to go - Its a stronger flavor and extremely relaxing, that virginia stuff does not compare!
