This client is a little different then the two previous versions. This one will actually place a bunch of fake files on your system. While these bogus trace files do not cause any harm to your system that we can tell, it is bothersome. Besides the bogus scan results and files placed on your computer you will most likely see some of the following messages. Do not fall prey to these warnings. They are there just to scare and trick you into making a purchase.
Your computer might be at risk
Antivirus detects viruses, worms, and Trojan horses. They can (and do) destroy data, format your hard disk or can destroy the BIOS. By destroying the BIOS many times you end up buying a new motherboard or if the bios chip is removable then that chip would need replacing.

1. Recover from Desktop Security 2010 and Security Center
When you go to registry section(Run regedit.exe), Find(Ctrl+F) Security center then delete all the respective files. Then Find Desktop Security 2010, delete all the files.
2. Can´t find
Help!
I can´t find any of the files or processes or registry-files connected to desktop security 2010. I found a few of them by windows search, but couldn´t erase, an didn´t find them manually in the specified folders. No anti-mal-/spyware is running due to desktop security 2010. rkill isn´t running, i treid that in different versions (IeXplore.exe etc.) but desktop security 2010 blocked all of them.
The same problem appears while trying to find the shit in secured mode (is it called that in english?).
Please excuse my bad language
3. To be clear you do not have
To be clear you do not have the folder path of c:\Program Files\Desktop Security 2010 or something very similar like in the Program Files folder? The file should be there if you are infected with this strain.
If it is there attempt to re-name the file then re-boot your computer. From there you should be able to delete it and then run your security program.
Also you may be able to type ( msconfig ) in the run command and under the startup lists uncheck the .exe file that is executing this program and then reboot your computer.
You may also try to boot into safe mode and go that route.
4. Thankyou
Thanks for these instructions, worked perfectly.
5. Since I am relatively new
Since I am relatively new around here I do have a question for you: are there any exact steps for perfect computer checkup? I have the feeling that I missed something and my computer is not behaving too well. I'd like to know more about basic information. I performed this kind of checkups before and everything was fine until now. Please share some references! Thank you!
6. Use the client we recommend
Use the client we recommend to scan for any virus and spyware. Spyware Doctor with Antivirus. As for computer checkup software you may want to look into PC Optimization tools like registry cleaners and the like.
7. Desktop Security 2010 and Explorer
HELLLLLLP!!!
I used Malwarebytes and Vipre to stop the virus. I had to run Malwarebytes at least 7-8 times before it removed enough of the virus to allow the install of antivirus software. ( I know I should have had some installed already!)
Here is my question. I use internet explorer for my business. I have to access a specific website to access info. I am now having trouble viewing some things on this website only. It seems after many conversations with tech support and checking my browser on Browserhawk.com, that I am running Internet explorer 6. Well guess what... I am running the new version 8!! It has been suggested that something in the registry is now messed up. I have used a few registry cleaners and the propblem is still there. Lastly, I switched to Mozilla Firefox new version 3.6.6. I went to that website I need to access. They require version 3.0 or higher ( Which obviously I have) and guess what. The wesite states that I do not have the correct version of Firefox!! WTF!!! Can anyone please tell me if this is some of the leftover virus or what would cause this. I have tried uninstalling both Firefox and IE and reinstalling and the errors still occur. Thank you in advance.
8. I doubt it's left over from
I doubt it's left over from the virus. Sounds like a real pita. This site is for virus issues only so we can not offer advice on how to resolve this issue.
I honestly think you have a very hard issue to fix. Perhaps a system restore would be in order. Take your computer back in time to when it was working correctly with your website.
Other than that I would recommend www.onlinecomputerrepair.org because this issue sounds very difficult to diagnose and repair.
9. HELLPP!!!

But when it seemes that "thing has been removed. I reboot my computer and it's there again, not in full force, but it's still there. I really do not know what else to do.
Can you help me???
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
10. Sure we can help. What have
Sure we can help.
What have you already done in the guide? With out that info we can only say follow the guide. If a particular step did not work for you then expalin what you already did. Have you ran a full scan using Spyware Doctor with Antivirus? If not that is step number 1. You may have to boot into safe mode with networking to download the client and update it. If you are blocked then re-set your Hosts file. Directions on this are in the How to Guides section.
