To Boot into safe mode here is what you have to do.  Feel free to print these directions below.

1.  Shut off your computer

2.  Turn on your computer and start pressing the F8 key every other second.  You should see a Dos liek screen that asks you what you want to do.  You will see several options.  The option you want is Safe Mode.  In some instances you may still need internet access.  If that is the case then select Safe mode with netowrking.  This will enable your network cards so you can get online if need be.

From there follow the on screen prompt's until you are in Safe mode.

Safemode is normally used to help resolve issues you are having and to trouble shoot errors.  While in safe mode many programs will not autostart as well as hardware drivers.  You will notice that your screen may be bigger as well or look a little funky.  This is because the driver for this device is not running.  While in safe mode you may find it easier to run virus removal programs and remove toehr such threats.

2. If your computer can not boot

If your computer can not boot into safe mode you have a corrupt operating system. I would recommend reinstalling Windows. If you have the Windows disk you can run the repair option. This will keep all programs and personal data intact.
