Trojan Banker is a generic term for a program that steal information such as bank passwords and user names as well as credit card information and then sends that data to who ever the maker of the program is ( The attacker )

If you have just found out that you had a Trojan Banker program installed on your computer then you should first fully remove the threat.  My recommendation is to run a full scan using your favorite security client.  Then just to be sure it is fully removed and no other traces are left you should download and run another scan with my favorite client, Spyware Doctor with

I've seen a lot of threats over the years for computers but man alive Iit's hard to imagine 35 million computers being infected each month with rouge security clients.

Acording to PandaLabs they found 1,000 samples of fake rouge clients in the first quarter of 2008. In just one years time that grew to 111,000. In the second quarter of 2009 it reached 364,000. These stats were taken from a Cnet article we found here.

PandaLabs goes on to say that there could be as many as 35 million computers infected each month with these rouge threats. Personally I find the number a little high but I do know this issue has grown significantly over the past year.

Windows Police Pro is one of the harder fake security clients to remove at the moment. It normally is installed from Trojan Downloader viruses and most people are infected with several items besides just Windows Police Pro.

Proof Defender 2009 is a fake security client. This client should not be purchased. When going through the website we noticed several red flags as well as false statements.

Protection System looks to be from the Coreguard Antivirus 2009 Rouge family. The removal process of Protection System is very similar just with different names. This is your standard fake security client

Nortel Antivirus is the latest Smitfraud client on the market. It looks very similar to Norton clients and even the name may fool some people. This is nothing more then your normal bogus security client

Total Security 2009 is not really new. There have been past versions of Total Security but each new strain seems to ad on a level of difficulty. Zango has been trying to force Kaspersky ( A well known antivirus client ) to allow the Zango software to be installed on computers running the Kaspersky software.  As of now Kaspersky auto blocks the installation of Zango and Kaspersky clasiffies Zango as malisious software program.  After the lower courts moved in Kaspersky's favor the ruleing moved to the 9th U.S.

I have always had a love hate relationship when it comes to viruses and spyware.  Like everyone out there I hate being infected and do wish all these people were behind bars.  At the same time I make a living off of repairing and removing viruses from peoples computers.

Even with the most advanced antivirus and antispyware protection out there people can still get infected.  I can not ever see a time when people like my self will not have work.  This does not mean you absolutely have to spend money on a security client for your computer.

This Tuesday Microsoft is opening it's doors to beta testers for their latest big project. Microsoft Security Essentials formerly known in beta as Morro will be replacing Live One Care. Live One Care cost around 50 bucks in the past but will be retired as of Nov 2009.

More then 40 thousand websites have been hit by a mass-compromise attack that re-directs visitors to a site that will then attempt to download trojans keyloggers to the visitors computer.

At the moment no one knows exactly what kind of trojans are being downloaded because the sites track the user by IP and re-peat visits from the same IP to the webpage or domain will then re-direct to ask.com.

Researchers from Computer Associates and Sophos are currently tracking three fake Microsoft patches. "Important Windows XP/Vista Security Update” “Outlook re-configuration” and “Update for Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express (KB910721)”.
