Antimalware Doctor is a fake anti-spyware program that tries to trick users by various methods in order to get them to purchase a license for the software. Antimalware Doctor gets installed on a user’s system via Trojan viruses that get downloaded from websites with fake scanners and from spam email attachments. Once installed, this rogue program loads itself at user logon and performs a large number of fake scans on the system, which return results that state that the computer is heavily infected with non-existent malware. Antimalware Doctor will also display fake pop-up warnings from the Windows taskbar trying to warn the user that the system is under threat. Meanwhile, Antimalware Doctor tries to convince the user to pay for the ‘full’ version of the software by claiming that the currently installed ‘trial’ version is incapable of removing the detected false ‘threats’. However, it should be remembered that the so-called ‘full’ version of Antimalware Doctor is just as ineffective as the ‘trial’ version when it comes to cleaning any user’s system.

The first step you need to take in order to remove Antimalware Doctor is to stop ONE of the following process:
- Antimalware Doctor.exe
- 070700Setup.exe
- Random70700.EXE( We are getting reports of this virus mutating with this process as well. I would look for a six digit random number before setup.exe like in the example or the 707000.exe number in the file)
-
newsecureapp70700.exe Yet antoher file to look for
The location of the threat will varry but from the comments section and our continuious testing you may want to look at C:\Users\YOUR USE NAME\AppData\Roaming\DCE77BF8422D9E5F4DCD7434BF3CA642
YOU SHOULD RUN A FULL SCAN WITH Spyware Doctor with Antivirus in Safe Mode With Networking to find the path if you are having troubles. From there you can manually remove the threat once found.
The next step in Antimalware Doctor removal is to delete the following files and folders:
- C:\Windows\System32\enemies-names.txt

Antimalware Doctor Registry Removal Proedures
File removal alone is not sufficient to completely remove Antimalware Doctor. It is necessary to delete the following keys and settings from the registry as well. You most likely only have a few of the below. The term "Antmaleare doctor" should be switched out with the EXE file name that you had in the above step.
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Antimalware Doctor Inc\Antimalware Doctor
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Antimalware Doctor
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Antimalware Doctor.exe"
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "newsecureapp70700.exe
Now it is safe to say that your computer is completely safe from Antimalware Doctor. While this in most cases is true, it is still recommended to scan the entire PC using genuine antivirus software such as Spyware Doctor with Antivirus in order to make sure that no other malware reside on the operating system.

1. Also look for gotnewupdate.exe
Just got rid of this nasty bug from my computer. Virus also installed\gotnewupdate.exe on my computer which was in the startup file. I used TuneUp Utilities start up manager to take it out of start up and went to the path to delete it entirely off my computer. Malwarebytes got rid of the rest, but didn't find that one. (Also had to delete enemies-names.txt manually)
2. BIG THANKS!! for finding
BIG THANKS!! for finding this one. I believe ( My thoughts only ) that the gotnewupdate.exe is installing other executables and changing permissions in the registry. This is a must file to remove. We now know that malwarebytes does detect this file thanks to the above contributor so be sure and use this product and run scan to ensure all traces are gone.

4. I've followed all the advice
I've followed all the advice but now my laptop won't connect to the internet. The WIFI connection is fine and the network manager says it's connected but it gives an error 102 message when chrome or explorer try to connect. My PS3 and blackberry both work fine on the homehub so I was wondering if there is a specific element to the problem relating to the program blocking access to the internet. Is there an easy fix to this?
5. Did you follow the proxy
Did you follow the proxy video? Sounds to me like you missed this step as it is effecting Chrome and IE only while other devices can access the internet.
Chrome uses the Same settings as IE for accessing the internet. Follow the proxy video shown in this guide or read the manual guide under the How to Guides section
6. how can u tell?
hey how do you tell its gone?!? because im not sure if its completley gone or not
7. As stated in the guide you
As stated in the guide you simply need to run a full scan using trusted security software to ensure it is all gone. We recommend Spyware Doctor with Antivirus. It costs nothing to run a full scan. If it's clean then you are good to go.
For long term protection and so you never get infected again we do also recommend registering the SDA client.
8. Thanks for this tutorial
Thank you !
9. I cant delete it
On my Administrator Account I cant press CTRL ALT DEl because more errors pop up i cant stop running the program I cant get to literally anything on my comp because errors pop up regedit wont work because more errors pop up I am terrible with computers so any help would be appreciated Maybe a way I can delete from a Standard user account
10. In ref to "I Can't Delete It"
In ref to "I Can't Delete It" Thats because now it blocks access to any prog or system that could affect it.That includes task manager, systems restores/resets,all anti virus and malware programmes.Did it also keep shutting you down after about 20-30 mins when you didnt attempt to purchase the prog? Also check your installed progs because you may find a remote access prog has been added.
In the end the only way to actually remove this was a complete wipe and reinstallation of windows
11. NOTHING could be further from
NOTHING could be further from the truth. As someone who has removed this virus manualay over 30 times I can tell you that you CAN 100% remove this threat from a computer with out using software or having to format and re-install windows. I've been doing this a long time and every time I hear someone say something like that it is iritating because you simply do not have the experience behind you or the facts to make such a false claim.
When a use gets a ACCESS Denied error when trying to delete a file it does NOT mean the virus is blocking the file or that it disabled anything. Access denied errors happen when a user does not have sufficient rights to delete a file. This may happend when the UAC is on in Vista and Windows 7, the user is not logged in as the administrator, the file is read only ect...
You are correct in saying their may be a remote access program installed on the computer. This however is a seperate issue from the virus we are talking about. That is why I recommend to everyone to run a full scan using Spyware Doctor with Antivirus. It will detect if you are infected with other viruses.
Malwarebytes is another one of my favorite security clients. while the free version does not offer any protection in blocking viruses from installing it still has a good scan interface and will often be able to detect and remove threats.
12. in ref. to i cant do it
The problem is when you try to clean it up in anything other then a safe mode the antimalware doctor will shut you down. It won't let you get into the task master. To put yourself in safe mode keep pressing the F8 key while the puter is starting up. As I side note I ran the search several times and found the anitmalware doctor hiding in my documents and settings. I put my puter in safe mode after finding out the task master is shut down in the normal mode.
13. Where do I find the gotnew
Where do I find the gotnew thing. I am so lost. This virus changed the permission levels and blocked it. I am finally back in but I can't find the c: files or the gotnew one. Someone.... anyone please help :( I have deleted the registry keys but they keep coming back so there is another part of the removal I am missing.
14. also look for patchsetup

16. It works - Thank You!
Thanks to this web site, i have managed to remove this bug completely. Prior to finding this website (and the very useful comments by all contributors here), I wasted so much time by trying to remove this bug by other means. I used up-to-date sophos antivirus and Malwarebytes anti-malware. None of the above programmes managed to completely find/remove this annoying bug. Thanks to all contributors here, I managed to do it in no time.
This what I did to remove it completely
1. Stop running the programme by: ctr+alt+del - task manager - end task
2. Go to registry edit by: Start -run-(then type) 'regedit'
3. Manually delete the following FOUR registry keys:
•HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Antimalware Doctor Inc\Antimalware Doctor
•HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Antimalware Doctor
•HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Antimalware Doctor.exe"
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "gotnewupdate.exe"
This should do the trick. Good luck

28. Questions
I did try to follow your steps. however, I found my system was somehow different from what you described above.
(I have a vista system)
1. the executable and enemies-names.txt were at\appdata\roaming\55ED31C83F4EB1276D68ED4FAB0510F7\gotnewupdate000.exe
c;\users\
I simply deleted entire folder.
2. Regarding 3 registry entries.
I only found one in "Run" location and it was gotnewupdate000.exe (or get...)
not found "antimalware Doctor "in "Uninstall" and in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software"
Does this mean it is gone?
thx.
Kent
29. It sounds like you were able
It sounds like you were able to get the main part of the threat. The rest most likely does not matter.
I highly recommend you run a full scan using Spyware Doctor with Antivirus and MalwareBytes. If those two scanners pick nothing up then you are good to go.
FYI: We have links to both programs in the side bar.
30. UJ01.exe
I tried to find the enemies-name.txt but nothing comes up...I deleted the registries and it reappear! It seems there is another .exe plus the gotnewupdate.exe already mentioned here. I found the Uj01.exe and Ujx.exe as processes and close them...I only got MacAfee installed and Im not the administrator so thats all i got. HELP!
P.S. its a windows XP computer

32. antimalware doctor removal
Hi,
I tried using antimalwarebytes to remove this program from my laptop, it told me that said files were removed but when I rebooted the PC, the antimalware doctowas still there.
Do I have to stop the processes before I run the scan, is this why it keeps coming back?
33. The reason it keeps popping
The reason it keeps popping back is most likely from a rootkit infection.
You should follow the above guide and ensure those traces are indeed removed.
I would also open up msconfig through the run command and under start-up you should view what programs are starting up. My guess is a rootkit is re-loading this virus onto your computer. You will need to stop that threat as well.

Help! I have this stupid anti malware doctor on my laptop! I tried going into the registry and deleting the shortcuts but when I go into the control panel where it says remove programs. 38. Questions with removal
While I was able to delete the two files:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Antimalware Doctor Inc\Antimalware Doctor
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Antimalware Doctor
the others were not there. I am running Vista, and so I checked the other comments and the folders were not located at c;\users\\appdata\roaming\55ED31C83F4EB1276D68ED4FAB0510F7\gotnewupdate000.exe
but I did manage to find setupupdater0000.exe at C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\7F270CDEC6AC00AAE5DB3D97247
Could this be the same file, should I remove it to remove Antimalware Doctor? Thank you for your help.
39. That definetly looks like a
That definetly looks like a rogue file trace. Run a full scan using the Spyware Doctor with Antivirus client to verify it is a virus then delete it if it is.
You can also uncheck this process in the start-up manager to ensure it is no longer running. Another option is to re-name the file to something like "OLDetupupdater0000.exe" and re-boot. If something goes wrong you can always just change the file name back.
40. Cannot find the files to delete
The next step in Antimalware Doctor removal is to delete the following files and folders:
C:\Windows\System32\enemies-names.txt
C:\Windows\System32\Antimalware Doctor.exe
--> I cannot find these files?
41. You trace may be different
You trace may be different than the version we have. Run a quick scan with Spyware Doctor with Antivirus to locate the file names.
42. Ok, I think I found the files
but when trying to delete the program says I need permission to continue and won't allow me to delete. What permission?
43. Are you using an account with
Are you using an account with admin privileges? If not boot into safe mode and login as admin.
Also what is the path to the file you are trying to delete? Are you able to re-name the file? You may also right click on the file and select properties then under security you can attempt to take ownership of the file.
regardless report back with the full path of the file you are trying to remove.
I should also add that you can NOT delete a file while it is in use. If you are being told that the file is in use or may be in use than that is your problem. You must first terminate the running process and then you will be able to remove it.
44. I'm using my private computer
with no admin priviledges. But I think I now got rid of the antimalware! At least it has dissappeared from the folders and recent items list. I forgot to copy the path before I deleted it but it was in the C:users/... -file as with the other vista-user here. I found it when I wrote antimalware on search panel. Thank you ever so much! Bless you! :)
45. Glad you got the file.
Glad you got the file. Another tip for people reading this is to right click on the antimalware icon on the desktop and select properties. You should see the full file path of this threat and be able to then follow that path.
Be SURE to run a scan using Spyware Doctor with Antivirus or / and Malwarebyes. This will show you if you have other viruses or traces left over.
46. After removing the files in
After removing the files in the system32 folder I had some problems finding der regs.
I was able to delete these regs:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Antimalware Doctor Inc\Antimalware Doctor
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Antimalware Doctor
But I didn't find:
-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Antimalware Doctor.exe"
-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "gotnewupdate.exe"
Instead of them I found the regs of the nugot.exe and teuvq.exe in the folder: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run .
The exes are situated in:
C:\users\\appdata\Ycuv\nugot.exe
C:\users\\appdata\Ibryy\teuvq.exe
... they've also been in the startup (but that's just logical, when the regs are in the "Run" folder^^) ... and i couldn't find any information on other sites.
My questions: Are these dangerous applications? Mby being part of the Antimalware Doctor?
47. They look very
They look very suspicious!
What security scans have you ran so far? You need to. use Spyware Doctor with Antivirus ( Free scan / you have to pay to remove) and use MalwareBytes as well to double make sure you are no longer infected.
Run both and report back the results.
48. I thought I got rid of it
but it's still there. When I go to control panel to unistall the program it won't let me do it. All other programs I'm able to uninstall but not he antimalware. Have you any idea why? I deleted the file on C: but what else do I need to do? For exampl what do you mean with "terminating the running process" I'm sorry for all the questions but I'm not that smart with computers... That's probably why I got myself in this mess in the first place... :/
49. Fake clients can NOT be
Fake clients can NOT be uninstalled via the control panel.
Terminate the running process means you first need to stop that process before you can delete it.
Example Terminate XYZ.exe. That means you would need to first stop this process from running before you are able to delete it and stop the fake client.
Use the Windows Task Manager to terminate. If that is disabled then simply download the process killer tool we recommend at http://www.removevirus.org/process-killing-software-654. We also have a video on using the windows task manager at http://www.removevirus.org/how-terminate-a-running-process-625
You should ensure the SDA client is fully up to date. Also use Malwarebytes to double check you are clean.
Malwarebytes is a great free client and alternative to the SDA client we recommend. While it is not as good in my opinion at protecting you in the future it does often come out the quickest with new virus traces so it's great to use if another client is not picking up the traces you currently have.
Worst case. You pay 89 bucks and have www.onlinecomputerrepair.org remove the threat for you. That is a great way to go for people who just can't seem to do it themselves. However I think you are getting there so have another go at it first.
50. I did the scan with PC tools antivirus
and it found nothing. Should I now be okay even thou I can still see antimalware on the bottom toolbar...? I will be out of office now for several days but I'll carry on with this when I'm back... Thanks for all your help!
