Antivirus Pro 2010 is a fake security product.  It is a clone of PC Antispyware 2010, Home Antivirus 2010, PC Security 2009.  They all have the same Graphic user interface. Users infected with this threat will notice error messages and warnings popping up stating that the user is infected and that they need to purchase Antivirus Pro 2010 to remove the threats.  This is all a lie.  They are simply trying to trick you and scare you into purchasing the program. Most of the time this software package gets downloaded via a trojan.  This virus once on the clients computer goes out and downloads several other viruses onto the system.  One of them was Antivirus Pro 2010.

Some symptoms of Antivirus Pro 2010:

  • Bogus Scan results
  • Auto Scans on Start-up
  • Warning coming out of a fake shield in the system tray
  • pop-ups and re-directs to the fake software's website
  • constant warnings of being infected as well as false statements of other trojans
